Baby language XD

Timmy started developing his own baby language from 11 Dec 09. The first word he said was " Ada...ada...", haha... does he mean papa?? Ok...i am not sure, seems everything for him is "ada..ada" ;-) We are happy that he has started his baby language....

Besides "ada...ada.." , sure there are some more words...which i could not identify ;-). Timmy's baby language sounds really cute and nice. He always makes us laugh. It's kind of pleasure to hear him talking to himself or to us :-)

I look forward to the day that he can say "mama" and the day that he can express himself.

Welcome back Adgitize members!

We are back :-)

Finally we are back ;-) It's always more comfortable to sleep on our own bed :-) And poor Timmy, he had many mosquitoes bites on the last days staying at my grandma's house. Seems like his blood is sweeter *LOL* It's heartbreaking to see he had so many swollen red dots on his face and hands :-(

Somehow, I had a great time together with my grandmas. My grandmas were happy to see Timmy. And especially my grandma from Bukit Mertajam was no more that lonely when we visited her.

Saying goodbye is always difficult. I hope we still can meet each other in January when my brother is back from Australia.

Our journey

Luckily, there is internet connection at my grandma's house, so that we can update our blogs during our trip.

Well...this is not really a happy journey for me as i do not like the way my mother treated me in front of people as a mother. However, i do not want to talk much or argue anything as they are not a breastfeeding supporter. But, what i do not understand is why my mom always wants to make me feel bad in front of others! This made me sad and angry.......well..perhaps i should really get used to it as she was already like this when i was small. But, i am still upset :-(

Fortunately, my grandmas are not like her. They are more on my side :-) I am happy to see them and hopefully one of my grandma will be staying together with my family in JB from next year on :-)

Timmy was happy to see his grate grandmas too ;-) Here is a photo together with one of my grandma :-)

MM: Trisha Yearwood - How do i live

Hmm... what shall i say about Trisha Yearwood's "How do i live" - Love song -. I just can say it's true, it's the way i feel about my wife (and she doesn't know yet that i wrote this, she will be surprised after the holidays when she looks up the baby blog :)).

Another surprise will it be as there is one of her favorite actors in this video - NICOLAS CAGE. The movie is called "Conair" and shall be excellent, too.

Guess i have to look the movie together with her after she will see this video here and we'll do it :)

Visiting our relatives

Hello visitors and readers of All about babies and kids,

like you may know already we are already in holidays (join our Holiday-Contest to win prizes worth over 200$ + 25.000+ EC, good luck).

We are visiting the relatives in Penang and Kedah in Malaysia. It's our first visit together with our baby boy Timmy!!

My grandma and my aunties are longing to see Timmy since we've mailed them the pictures of our cute Timmy XD. Well, i do hope they don't focus too much on the Timmy's hands and nine fingers. I know they'll do and give us several advises :( But what ever, I don't know how they will react when they see him the first time as they don't know yet, how it really looks like.

I look forward visiting them and i hope there won't be too much critics on me as mother. You have to know, Chinese are sometimes very superstitious, especially in cases when your kid isn't developed "normal".
They might blame me on causing this appearance to Timmy, for example by using a scissor and cutting things during pregnancy (as if this would cut his finger in womb??) *LOL*
Frankly, i do hate to hear these kind of talking! But i know, it will happen... again like on the first day of his birth :( ARGH!!

However, i think it will still be a happy journey because nevertheless Timmy is really cute and yeah... clever ... XD

Ok, hopefully we can update the blog if there is an internet connection in my grandma's house.

Baby milestone : 7 & 8 months

When Timmy was 7-month-old, he could stand while holding on something, and now, he likes to stand up but he still needs to hold something to support himself up ;-) He also started cruising, his physical development amazed us!

He also liked to play pee-ka-poo with us, he always smiled or laughed happily when we played this games together. Oh ya, he also would give you five if you would play the game of "give me five"...haha......he is really such an adorable baby!!!

So far, Timmy does not experience stranger anxiety. What he does is always observe first, and then he will give the strangers his sweet smile if they play with him.


For the age of 8 months, Timmy already started showing us his wants by crying!! If we take away his "toy", then he will cry or perhaps he is complaining about we interrupt him...hahaa.... Ok, sometimes we made this purposely, just only wanted to see his cute reaction XD.

We look forward to hear "mama" or "papa" from him, so far, i only can hear "mama" from him when he is crying...but my hubby said i think too much....XD...... However, at this age, he does very well during our flash card session. He always shows me the correct answers....hehe...i know i should not test him...but there is always temptation to test :-(

Oh ya, he also tries to pick up my hair which i dropped on the bed with thumb-finger pincer grasp. However, he still needs a lot of practices.

WW: Start of Carnival season in Germany

These are some of the members of a Carnival group. They walk with several thousand different persons in the streets during the Carnival season.

It starts every year on 11th November at 11:11 am. Usually on this day it's just a meeting of the group members in their club house and some pictures for the media.

The real season starts in January and lasts usually until February on the day when the Christian start their fasting period.

Gymboree Play & Learn Review (Tropicana)

Today i would like to make a review about the Gymboree trial class that we sent Timmy to. It's already about a month ago, but i could not find a time to make the review.

We were disappointed when we were told Timmy was the only baby in this level (Play and learn - Level II, 6 - 10 month young babies). One of our purpose was hoping that Timmy could interact with other babies. Well...the advantage of being the only baby in this class is that the teacher would pay more attention on Timmy ;-)

Basically, Timmy enjoyed the activities, he showed his curiosity all the time. And frankly, he was doing very well. The teacher said so, too :-) In my eyes, some of the activities seems difficult for Timmy to complete, but i was surprised that he could actually complete them (except one, crawling down a slide) for his first time!

The activities are finished within 45 minutes, it's really a rush!!! Once Timmy had completed one, he were asked to complete another activity immediately! It's always rushing here and there (can't imagine what it will be like in the other groups with several kids). Tired for us too ;-) haha...... From my observation, i believe Timmy wanted more time for himself to explore all the used equipments.

Basically, we were quite ok with the class since Timmy enjoyed the activities and interacted well with the teacher.

I hope there will be some more babies signing up for this class. I really hope Timmy can make some new friends soon ;-)

We went to 1 Utamas Shopping Mall and my parents enjoyed the food in a nice restaurant "Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe" while i felt asleep after their shopping tour :)

"No paracetamol after vaccination for babies!"

Wow, this is a big news which we just read in BBC Health news online. Here in Malaysia they gave us every time after the vaccines paracetamol to lower the fever. But now it might do more harm than good to give it to babies after the vaccinations!

These are the reasons from a study with 450 babies. Half of them took the paracetamol, half of the group didn't get the paracetamol

• Even with the pain and fever killer paracetamol 42% of the babies who took the medicine had fever with more than 38 Celsius.
  
  
• 66% of the babies who didn't get the paracetamol had also fever with temperatures higher than 38 Celsius
  
  
• But the babies who got the paracetamol developed a lower level of antibodies towards the given vaccines.
  This means in case they would get infected with some of the viruses in the future their immune system wouldn't be able to fight as fast and quick as possible to prevent the illness from breaking out!

In celebration of our baby boy Timmy who likes to play since the last week with the double in the MIRRORS. Here is a song from Sally Oldfield from 1979. It was recorded in the famous TOP of the POPS Show and it climbed in the UK, Austria and Germany Chart to very popular rankings in 1979.

Glenn Doman: How to teach your baby books

Today, we have received Glenn Doman's books from Kinokuniya. We bought the books from Kinokuniya online because i could not find them in the bookstore which is nearby our apartment.

These are the books that we get today:

1. How to teach your baby Math
2.How to teach your baby to read
3.How to teach your baby encyclopedic knowledge

Actually i have the e-books in Chinese version, but like that my husband cannot read the e-books, so that we decided to buy the English version. It's difficult to find the books from bookstore, luckily we found the books from Kinokuniya. And for luck, they have the online shopping and delivery service (they use GDEX). Online shopping is just so great!! ;-)

I recommend for those parents who wants to teach their babies as early as possible, it's a good choice adopting Glenn Doman's teaching method. Another similar teaching method is from Shichida, he is from Japan.

Some of the parents here send their babies to Shichida learning centre, most of the parents who do the home practice as well with their babies said they see the improvements in their babies' development. However, the fees is very expensive. If i am not wrong, it costs RM 1,200 per semester, and also you have to buy the teaching materials, and it costs you extra money.

There is no Glenn Doman's learning centre in Malaysia. But it does not a matter for us if we want to adopt his method. His books explain every thing that you want to know and teach you how to start. It's encouraged to read his books and keep his books because whenever you have encountered any problems during the learning lesson, then you can refer to his books.

If anyone who wants to have the e-books in Chinese version, just leave me a message, i can send it to you. Or i will try to upload to somewhere that you can download from.

Avoid cracked nipple while breastfeeding

Nursing mothers will always get the cracked nipple while breastfeeding. I've never had cracked nipples until my son is teething. He likes to bite me when he is a little satisfied after drinking the milk. It's pain, for sure. And i have never thought i will get the cracked nipple! However, i do not stop breastfeeding. I still keep nursing my son even though i feel pain.

Actually we can avoid cracked nipple while breastfeeding, here are the useful tips for nursing mothers.

1. Do not pull out your nipple from your baby's mouth after breastfeeding. When you do this for few times, the skin of your nipple will be broken. What you do is, gently put your finger into your baby's mouth and take out the nipple.
   
   
2. If your baby bite your nipple during feeding, it will make the cracked nipple worse. Remember, do not shout and pull out your nipple immediately, this will make him bite harder! Instead of pushing him away, press his head close to your breast, he will open his mouth because he will feel uncomfortable.
   
   
3. After breastfeeding, rub a bit breast milk on your nipple and areola, and let it air dry. The breast milk can help heal the cracked and sore nipple. Remember, do it every time after nursing.

If you follow these every time, normally you won't get the cracked nipple. However, if you really have cracked nipple and you cannot stand the pain, you can stop breastfeeding for one day, express out the breast milk and bottle feed your baby.

Gymboree Play & Music

Yesterday we went to Tropicana City Mall and just found out there is one center of Gymboree Play & Music on level 2. After back home, we google about it and we plan to let Timmy join Play & Learn class.

Today i called the center for the information of the class and fees. The center manager gave us a free trial class before making the decision to take the package. It's good offer, then we made the appointment on next Wednesday morning. We hope the class is fun for Timmy. The main reason to send him there is to interact with other babies.

Here are some information about Gymboree classes and fees:
Time : 45 minutes/class
Package : 1. RM420/12 weeks
2. RM1780/1 year
Trial class: RM48 (we get it for free ;-) )

The manager told us that weekday classes are more quiet, weekend classes tend to be busier. Therefore, we chose the weekday class so that the teachers can focus more on the babies.

Can't wait to go to the class with Timmy next Wednesday *LOL*

Baby development: Who's that in the mirror?

Since the last week our little Timmy boy recognize the persons in the mirrors in our apartment. This is getting much more fun for him now as we have a big mirror in the bath room. There he can always watch what the other little boy is doing in the mirror :)

At the moment he can't recognize that it is him in the mirror but he recognizes us already. In the end he prefers to watch at the real mommy and daddy instead of the two doubles in the mirror :)
