Birthday cake 2011

Mom-in-law made this year again one of her famous fruit birthday cakes (berry cake, mainly strawberry, yummy!).

We celebrated together with the couple whose wife is coming from Taiwan(they live in our town, too) and with whom i can talk Chinese and celebrate a few of our Chinese festivals in Germany.

Her husband did play a few birthday songs for us on his accordion for our amusement and Timmy always likes to dance to his songs.

And when you don't do the Macarena dance while watching and listening to the song, you should start learning the few easy moves :-) One of my favorites during my late school life, even when boys didn't admit it.

Funny animals undercover as piggy banks!

As we walked through the culture festival on Saturday our eyes and especially the hands of our son Tim caught the following funny animals who have been on sale by a DIY-artist. They are all made from wood and the main core, the piggy bank or coin box, is an empty coconut.

The amazing human tree picture!

We went today again to our yearly culture festival (called "Kulturufer") which gets celebrated in Friedrichshafen at the Lake of Constanze. There you can listen and watch to all kind of musicians, artists, bands and clowns. But today there was a lady acting as a human tree and not only for half an hour (much sunshine and quite hot while body fully covered with clothes).

We saw her at the beginning of our tour around 4:45 pm, when we left around 7:15 pm she still stood there and greeted everyone who donated some money in her basket with flying kisses.

As Youtube in Germany has to obey to copyright protection, I found a substitute video of a very sweet your singer who sings it nearly as good as Yvonne Catterfeld :)

On 3rd of February 2011 the Chinese New Year started with a new zodiac - The rabbit! All what you need for decorating your home for the 2011 Chinese New Year (CNY) are the following items:

• Mandarins
• pink flowers
• red or violet decorations on the table
• and many rabbits ;)

My first german Christmas Present!

Christmas time came five weeks ago the first time for our Tim. And as it's tradition in Germany there have to be a lot of presents for kids. So this was one of the presents which Timmy got on 24th December 2010 - the little Tikes Caterpillar xylophone (to be continued soon).
